Back-end/infra founding engineer
Location:
Remote
Distributed (worldwide)
Salary/equity:
$150k-200k
No equity
Role/industry:
Back-end/infra
Algorithmic trading
Exp. floor:
5 years
Brief description
This is an early back-end infra/integrations-heavy role with a company building algorithmic trading for sports betting and prediction markets. They're early on - only 3 people - but have an MVP up and running, and are trying to add more capacity to build out integrations with more exchanges.
Unusually for startups, their codebase is in Java, though you don't need background with it (and they'd rather have startupy personality traits than Java experience).
This role is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide, though you'll need a 4-hour overlap with EST working hours (so you'd ideally be located in the Americas, Europe, or Africa).
What they're looking for
[Hard requirements]
5+ YOE. This could bend for an exceptional interview performance with us, but should not be the expectation.
The usual startupy personality traits (take an ill-defined task, go get it done, ask questions iff needed)
[Nice-to-have]
Background with Java. Purely a nice-to-have, they're fine ramping folks up with it.
Background with, or interest in, prediction markets.
What they're offering
Salary: $150k-200k (USD)
Equity: None (notable at this size)
Standard benefits (e.g. healthcare), though this may vary by location
Fully remote role
