Brief description
Brief description
This is an early engineer role (actually a couple in one, more on that in a sec) with a startup building a SaaS platform for customer ops. The idea is that most sales teams are disconnected from support/customer success teams, and that a lot of recurring revenue comes from post-sales support, but most companies are doing this in disconnected systems. Like many B2B SaaS, their fundamental pitch is: ingest data from disparate systems, build a better ontology on top of it, and build better recommendations/easier actions on that.
They're hiring several engineers with different skillsets, from a back-end product engineer to a front-end design-focused engineer to full-stack in-between (but probably nothing as far back as e.g. infra/devops). They're open to candidates anywhere on that spectrum initially, and will hire later candidates to fill gaps left by earlier ones.
This role is fully in-office in the Financial District of downtown San Francisco, near public transit.
What they're looking for
[Required]
2-3ish years of experience. This is not a hard floor if you have an otherwise excellent pitch.
You have shipped something concrete and complete. This can be e.g. a major personal project, just needs to be substantial and most importantly end-to-end (not just a small component).
A strong "propensity to ship" (their words) and focus on customer experience over ideal code
[Nice to have]
Strong design sense if front-end focused
Data-model/ontology focus if back-end focused
Ability to act as glue between those two if full-stack focused
What they're offering
Salary: $200-225k
Equity: 0.7-1.2%
Medical, dental, 401(k), wellness benefits
Hiring process
15 min nontechnical call
40 min technical call
Take-home project (AI permitted, but what you can do beyond what Claude spits out is the key here)
1-2 day paid onsite final round
