Senior Generalist Engineer
Location:
Remote
Distributed (US only)
Salary/equity:
$180k-240k
Standard (exact #s variable)
Role/industry:
Generalist / Full-stack
Healthcare / AI
Exp. floor:
No hard floor, senior-lvl role
Brief description
This is a generalist product-engineering role with a for a company building human-in-the-loop AI medical summaries. Their pitch is to highlight medically-relevant information to each provider (so for example, a cardiologist might care much more about certain medications than a dermatologist would).
The role itself is a full-stack product-generalist role. They're making several hires and would like one of them to be front-end-skewed, but that need not be you. You'd be building a mix of integrations to pull data from their clients' systems, internal tools for human reviewers, and an interactive UI for clinicians (for example, clicking on the name of a medication might bring up more info on it).
This role is fully remote, but can only hire within the US for regulatory reasons.
What they're looking for
[Hard requirements]
Senior-level skills, as measured by a strong performance on our interview. In principle, not dependent on hard # of years of experience, but few people without it will have what they need.
Physically located in the US. Some travel is OK, but for legal reasons you can't access much of their data from outside the US, so expect to remain mostly within the country.
Willing to do some degree of 'forward deployed' style work - not as the full job, but integrating client systems is part of what they do, and there's some boring work there.
Practical, humble, and build-what's-needed attitude (trying to avoid the "brilliant asshole" personality type).
The usual startupy independence - take an ill-defined task and get it done without help, learning as needed.
[Nice-to-have]
Background in healthcare, particularly HIPAA and other regulatory details
Depth on the front-end (their team is a bit heavy on the back-end right now)
What they're offering
Salary: $180k-240k
Equity: Standard-ish (exact numbers not given, but seems normal)
Fully remote within the US, with two meetups a year
Well-funded (recent large seed round) with major clients, so reasonably stable by startup standards
