Senior full-stack engineer
Location:

San Francisco / Remote
Salary/equity:
$190k-270k

Role/industry:
Full-stack
Healthcare / logistics
Exp. floor:
3 years (5+ pref)
Brief description
This is an early, but not founding, role with a startup building a logistical platform for hospital labor. Labor management is tricky even in relatively simple workplaces (e.g. restaurants), but hospitals are large, complex, and have regulatory and skill requirements that restrict who can be put where. Most hospitals are still doing this manually, and their product is essentially a tool to automate staffing decisions intelligently. Their platform might, say, offer a bonus to cover an essential shift or warn that not enough staff are available for a surgical department, that kind of thing.
The role itself is a logistics, performance, and data-heavy full-stack role. The back-end challenges are integration with hospital data and complex logistics; the front-end ones are UX-heavy (how do you show all this complex decision-making and configuration to a user?). Stack is standard node/typescript.
They prefer candidates in SF, but are explicitly open to remote candidates. Work-life balance expectations are, in their words, "outcomes-driven" - less about working extreme hours and more about being reachable when something critical is going on.
What they're looking for
[Required]
3+, ideally 5+, years of experience as an engineer
If remote, willing to travel sometimes for meetups
[Positives]
Ex-founder or experience w/early stage company
Interested in performant code
Passionate about modern dev tools/stacks in general ("it doesn't have to be typescript")
What they're offering
Salary: $190k-270k; lower experience levels should expect the lower end of the band and higher ones the mid-high end.
Equity: ~0.3-0.4%
Medical, dental, vision
401(k) and, somewhat unusually, 401(k) matching.
Home office/commuter reimbursement
